Telemarketing Violators to Face Heavier Penalties

Violations of the telemarketing laws will invite heavier penalties from the telecom authorities. That is the consensus that several telecom authorities of the world are trying to push for. Call center units that flout the rules and call users registered on the national Do Not Call lists will have to face the heat in intense terms not just for violating the law, but also for tightening the noose around telemarketing services. BPO firms across the world are trying to get the authorities go easy on the imposition of the DNC list. It’s their drive that has prevented the telecom department from clamping a stricter set of penalties like getting a Do Call list into existence.

A DC list would mean that only those consumers who sign up can receive telemarketing calls. This would wipe out the telemarketing services industry, for all practical purposes. The authorities fear that this will seriously cut down on their earnings and also bring about massive unemployment. Keeping the repercussions in mind, the powers that be have decided on heftier penalties. The call center investors are happy with the rule because this is the best possible option for them. If they continue their violations, it could get worse. It’s time for the BPO world to exercise some caution and bunk those unsolicited calls for now.
